Ministering inside prison is the starting point for everything we do. This is where relationships and trust are built with the men. Every month Doug ministers inside both County and State Correctional Facilities. His involvement varies from assisting chaplains with their praise and worship to conducting entire services, ministering in music and the Word.It is while men are inside that we extend an invitation to participate in New Brothers Fellowship. We determine where they will be released and make recommendations concerning possible churches they might attend. Information is gathered so that we can communicate with them after their release and get them connected to an NBF Discipleship Group if possible.
The message we bring to the men inside focuses on their need to stay in Christ by remaining in fellowship with the Body of Christ through NBF and the Local Church. We continually pray that these men will grasp how critical this is to their survival.
Currently, Doug is ministering in the following correctional facilities:
Essex County Correctional Facility (ECCF, Chaplain Doug Gregan) - Middleton, MA
Schedule: Doug serves as the Chaplain and Interfaith Coordinator over the ECCF.
Ministry: Coordinating Protestant Volunteers and services, counseling inmates, ministry of the Word and worship, and managing the interfaith volunteers.
Lawrence Correctional Alternative Center (LCAC, Chaplain Doug Gregan) - Lawrence, MA
Schedule: Wednesday - Counseling and Video Service, Sunday - Evening Worship Service
Ministry: Doug serves as the Chaplain over the LCAC. In addition to ministering in the Word and worship, he coordinates volunteer services and interfaces with the staff to help coordinate NBF connections with men being released.
MCI Concord (State Facility, Chaplain Dave Renna) - Concord MA
Schedule: Every fourth Wednesday and Sunday
Ministry: Lead worship services for Chaplain Dave Renna, while occasionally covering full services.
MCI Shirley Medium (State Facility, Chaplain Tom Kurtz) - Shirley MA
Schedule: Approximately once a month as Chaplain Tom Kurtz is able to get NBF on the schedule.
Ministry: Lead worship for Chaplain Tom, as well as conduct full services.
Mass Treatment Center (State Facility, Chaplain Orlando Jardim) - Bridgewater, MA
Schedule: The fourth Sunday night of each month.
Ministry: Praise and worship and ministry of the Word.
North Center Correctional Institute (State, Chaplain Samuel Perry) - Gardner, MA
Schedule: Second Monday each month.
Ministry: Praise and worship and ministry of the Word.
