"Rejoice in the Lord always: and again I say, Rejoice." Philippians 4:4

NBF News
---------------
New Brothers Fellowship exists to carry the Gospel of Jesus Christ into prison, and to serve men upon their release who’ve come to faith in Christ during their incarceration. We are here by God's grace, as He uses HIS BODY to support HIS work in the prison and prison aftercare mission field in New England. Thank you very much for joining us in this effort for the glory of our dear Savior.

"Pastor, Can You Come Over?"
People often ask about Doug's schedule and what exactly we "do" as prison and aftercare missionaries. Well, as Protestant Chaplain and Interfaith Coordinator for Essex County, he is in a correctional facility 6-7 days a week. As the Director of New Brothers Fellowship he is with New Brothers 4-7 days a week. The Lord gets him a full day off at least once a month, and most weeks he fits in a half-day off.

However, Doug is always on call for men like the New Brother who called at 9:30p.m. last night: "Pastor, can you come over?" Generally, the answer to that question is, "Yes." This is, after all, a part of what being a missionary means. We didn't sign-on for a 40-hour week. We signed-on for a total lifestyle change. And, each day it is our privilege to adjust and adapt as we serve. We are so very blessed to serve the Lord as missionaries to the prison and aftercare mission fields.

Unprecedented Growth Means Unprecedented Need for Prayer
NBF is experiencing tremendous growth and favor, which means we need prayer! So, we are asking God for 100 intercessors to pray for NBF once a day. If you are one in a hundred, please email us at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. with "YES!" in the subject line.

Interns are Answered Prayer
We are so happy to announce that Mr. Edward Smith has joined NBF as our first ministry intern. For nearly 18 months we have asked prayer for someone to work alongside Doug in prison and in New Brothers Fellowship, so we are very grateful to the Lord for Edward's willingness to serve in this capacity. Edward is from Haverhill, a member of The Ward Hill Church of Christ the King, Pastor Alex Burgess, in Bradford, Massachusetts. He has just graduated from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. His internship will last six months. Please, remember to pray for Edward.

Add NBF Board to His Credits
We welcome a new Board Member this month, Dr. Tom Petersen. Tom has been volunteering with NBF and at the Farm for over two years now. He is the facilitator for the Saugus Discipleship Group and a Sunday night volunteer at the Farm. When he is not serving the Lord in NBF, he is serving the Lord as a member of First Presbyterian Church North Shore, Pastor David J. O’Leary, in Ipswich, Massachusetts. Tom is also the father of two daughters, and an excellent musician. He has been a great blessing to this ministry, and we know he will bring a lot to the Board. Please, remember to pray for Tom.

Faith & Fatherhood @ the Farm
Final approval has been received from the administration for the launch this new program at the Farm (LCAC). The Faith & Fatherhood program is facilitated by David Babb, who has been involved with NBF for two years, both as a New Brother and a volunteer. During this time, David has led fathering classes in his community and acquired vital knowledge and experience in child custody issues. The 15-week Faith & Fatherhood program will not only equip, but encourage men to fulfill their God-given role as father to their children. It was also be a means for reaching men with the gospel and sharing NBF. We are excited about this, and gratified by how eager the facility is to host it. We anticipate this will shortly expand into the Middleton jail. Please, remember to pray for David.

Salem NBF Discipleship Group
Pastor Rob Parady & Salem Wesley United Methodist Church are launching a fourth discipleship group. This is the first NBF Discipleship Group to be launched with only Doug's oversight. Until now, Discipleship Groups have depended on Doug's direct participation, which really limits the number of communities we can reach. So, Rob's step of faith is very important. We pray Rob and SWUMC will be an example to many other churches and leaders, the first of many other Discipleship Groups. Please, remember to pray for Rob.

The 20-10 Campaign
This is a first! We have never attempted an online fundraiser before, but upon the counsel of our Board we present The 20-10 Campaign, asking you to seriously and prayerfully consider supporting this work with your financial gifts. We could really use your help right now, so even a one-time gift is very welcome. However, if you feel so led, we ask you to partner with us on a monthly basis.

As you have read above, this is an active ministry! God is moving, doors are opening, lives are being touched, hearts are being changed, and your participation will help us carry on. We are completely devoted to this work, and fully convinced this is God's work---we see the evidence of His hand every day. We are not asking you to support an idea or a plan, but an effective and vital work of God. In faith, we ask for your help right now, trusting the Lord to use this appeal to confirm in you His call to His Body to partner with us in this work. Thank you! Please click here for more information.

There is more to share about what God is doing, but we won't ask for more of your time now. Thank you for reading this update, praying for us, and considering partnering with us. We would love to hear your feedback.

In Christ Alone,
Doug & Caroline Gregan
