MRSA
In our last e-iNBrieF, we were going to ask prayer for a skin infection Doug had, but he was on antibiotics and we thought he was getting better.  Little did we know that a few days after that email was sent he would be in a hospital with an I.V. in his arm, awaiting test results that would eventually confirm a MRSA infection.  He spent six days in the hospital, and on the day of his release Caroline took to bed.  She had two infections and was able  to treat them at home.  We are both back on our feet now and glad to get back to work.

As a result of this experience, we've learned that MRSA is much more common that we knew, and it is something we should all be concerned about---and guarding against.  MRSA is hard to cure, and can lead to death (10% of all cases do).  However, it is relatively easy to avoid.  If you would like to learn more, we've posted a short informational piece on our website.  If you have young children in daycare, children in organized sports, or children in college, you want to be sure to read how to safeguard them against infection. a short informational piece on our website. A  MINISTRY  OPPORTUNITY
There is an opening in NBF for a Communication Coordinator.  This position requires fewer than ten hours per week, but it is a critical need in the ministry.  This is a volunteer position that will be a very fulfilling ministry opportunity for any spiritually mature man.  To see a full job description and requirements, contact us and we will be happy to email you a copy.  Former experience is not required.  Doug will provide training and oversight, as needed, but it is a job for someone who is self-motivated and able to "be their own boss."  Please keep this need in prayer.  It is vital we fill the position as quickly as possible.

PRAYER
If you would like to receive a copy of the NBF Master Prayer List, please let us know.

YOUR'RE  INVITED...
...to the next NBF Discipleship Group meeting!  Contact Doug or visit the website to learn more about visiting an NBF meeting.  We need Church Brothers to join us and extend a hand of fellowship to New Brothers.  No commitment required, no obligation. Just come check it out!

SHARE  THE WARMTH
Each Winter men at the Farm are in need of warm clothing.  The facility does not provide them with clothing of any kind.  Some men have caring families to provide what they need, but too many do not.  Each Sunday night, they come into chapel shivering in sometimes nothing more than a t-shirt.  Each year, we go through Doug's things to see what he can live without.  Other volunteers have done the same.  These donated items are always greatly appreciated---and we see the men wearing them week after week.  Yet, there is never have enough supply to meet the demand.  So, this year we've decided to open this opportunity up to the whole Body of Christ.

As you unpack your cold-weather gear this Fall, please remember the prisoner.  Gather those sweatshirts, quilted shirts, and jackets---in any men's size---that you can do without.  The men aren't picky about color, style or brand.  They just want to be warm.  Our only special request is that items be laundered first.

Thank you in advance for helping.  Please, share this need with others in your church, school, & community.  Doug is planning to speak to the Superintendent about making this a facility-wide outreach, so this is going to be a great opportunity to demonstrate the love of Jesus is a tangible way.  We're excited!  Please, begin collecting items right away!

IN  CLOSING
We are looking forward to a busy Fall.  Your continued prayer support is more than appreciated---it is very much needed!  We really value the men and women who are willing to intercede on behalf of New Brothers Fellowship, the chaplaincy, and our family.  A special Thank You for giving financially to support this work.  We thank God for your partnership in this work.  God is doing a good thing!

In Him Alone,
Doug, Caroline, and Hannah
