Tonight, I'm ministering at the Essex County Correctional Facility, where I am now the Chaplain. I've placed myself on the schedule for the fourth Saturday of each month. I'll be ministering to a group of men that the facility calls P.C., i.e. "Protective Custody".
Now is the time in ministry when you see the difference between those who fade away and those who endure. Today is a day for endurance. Challenge after challenge arise and they begin to weigh on you. The desire to give in and give up
Remember this always...you can only possess your inheritance in Christ one day at a time. Progress is extrememly difficult to measure. The Spirit blows and moves as He wills. This is a pretty good description of how the last ten days have felt.
This has been an incredibly difficult week. The reasons are far to numerous to mention. At the same time, we've had a glorious week of victories and progress in every area of New Brothers. This all leads me to two conlcusions.
It makes me tremble and brings me to silence when I see the Lord move powerfully in a service. When the words coming out of your mouth are in no way your own, but flow from the Holy Spirit speaking to His people.
