Rom. 13:14 But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.
One of the most blatant but casually dismissed strategies of Satan is allowing us to categorize and grade the activities and mindsets of the Flesh.
This means that some places we yield to our flesh we have decided are not really "that bad." It's just a little joke, a little curse word, a little insult, a little appreciation for "her beauty", a little gossip, a little disrespect, a little lie...
Those who categorize their participation with their Flesh this way are deceived and deluded in their understanding of the Flesh, and the Devil. Neither your Flesh or Satan are hindered by quantity or measurement.
In the Kingdom of God you sow and you reap. There's no avoiding this principle and it will utterly destroy you.
Paul said to the Corinthians,
1Cor. 5:1-8 It is reported commonly that there is fornication among you, and such fornication as is not so much as named among the Gentiles, that one should have his father’s wife. And ye are puffed up, and have not rather mourned, that he that hath done this deed might be taken away from among you. For I verily, as absent in body, but present in spirit, have judged already, as though I were present, concerning him that hath so done this deed, In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, when ye are gathered together, and my spirit, with the power of our Lord Jesus Christ, To deliver such an one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus. Your glorying is not good. Know ye not that a little leaven leaveneth the whole lump? Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us: Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth. "Know ye not that a little leaven leaveneth the whole lump?"
Our problem is that we really don't believe in Satan, or the Flesh, in their commitment to destroy us. Read through the passage again and see what The Lord is really saying here.
The Word of God tells us plainly in the original verse. MAKE NO PROVISION! Why? Because the Flesh will not be satisfied with "a little" of anything.
Gal. 6:3, 6-9 "For if man think himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceiveth himself. Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting. And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not."
Get honest with yourself and stop making provision. The truth is (I speak to those who need to hear it) you've been playing games with your Flesh and your life is on the verge of collapse but you don't see it. WAKE UP!
Make NO PROVISION!!!
